ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the role of the microbiome, which is the collection of bacteria and other microorganisms in our bodies, in a type of cancer called head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Researchers want to find out if changes in these microorganisms contribute to the development of this cancer and understand how this happens at a molecular level.
To participate in the study, you need to be at least 18 years old and have been diagnosed with oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). The researchers are also looking for a similar number of participants who do not have this diagnosis to serve as a comparison group. If you join the study, you can expect to have your health evaluated by a doctor at the University of Colorado Health and will need to sign a consent form agreeing to participate. This research could help improve our understanding of head and neck cancers and potentially lead to better treatments in the future.
