ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new treatment called Problem-Solving Training for Concussion (PST-Concussion) to help Veterans who have experienced mild traumatic brain injuries, commonly known as concussions. While many people recover from a concussion in a few weeks, some Veterans continue to face ongoing challenges such as difficulty thinking clearly, emotional distress, and other related issues. The goal of this study is to see if PST-Concussion can improve their recovery and overall well-being by teaching them practical skills to cope with these challenges.
To participate in this trial, you need to be an English-speaking Veteran enrolled in VA healthcare, have a history of concussion, and currently be experiencing psychological distress or cognitive symptoms for at least three months. If you join, you will receive this brief training from healthcare providers in a VA primary care setting. It's important to know that certain conditions, like more serious brain injuries or severe mental health issues, may prevent you from participating. This study hopes to offer support to Veterans facing ongoing difficulties after a concussion, making their recovery journey a little easier.
