ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether regular strength-resistance exercises during early pregnancy can help prevent gestational diabetes in women who are overweight or obese. Gestational diabetes is a type of diabetes that can develop during pregnancy, and it can lead to health issues for both the mother and the baby. The researchers want to see if incorporating exercise into the routine of pregnant women with a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or higher can make a difference.
To participate in this trial, women must be pregnant with one baby and have a BMI of 25 or more. However, those with certain health conditions, like chronic high blood pressure or a history of diabetes, will not be eligible. If you join the study, you can expect to engage in regular exercise sessions aimed at improving your strength, all while being closely monitored for any effects on your health and the health of your baby. It's an opportunity to contribute to important research that could benefit many future mothers and their children.
