ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how well patients can handle a fast heartbeat condition called ventricular tachycardia (VT), especially in people who also have coronary artery disease (CAD). The researchers want to find out if having CAD affects how well someone can tolerate VT and whether treating CAD with stents (small tubes placed in the arteries to keep them open) can help improve this tolerance. Participants will be individuals scheduled for a coronary angiogram (a test to look at the heart's blood vessels) or angioplasty (a procedure to open blocked arteries), and their blood pressure and blood flow will be measured while their heart rate is increased.
To join this study, participants need to be between the ages of 65 and 74 and able to provide consent for their involvement. They should also be referred for the heart procedures mentioned. However, those who are pregnant, have severe heart conditions, or are unable to provide consent cannot participate. If you decide to take part, you’ll undergo routine tests that will help the researchers learn more about the relationship between heart conditions and how your heart behaves under stress. This information could lead to better treatments in the future for people with similar heart issues.
