ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of low blood pressure, or hypotension, that can happen during spinal anesthesia in women having a cesarean section. The researchers want to find out if this drop in blood pressure affects how well these patients think and remember after the surgery. If they discover that hypotension does lead to problems with thinking, it could mean that doctors need to take extra steps to prevent or treat low blood pressure in these situations.

To participate in the study, women aged 18 to 40 who are in good health (classified as ASA2) and scheduled for a cesarean section using spinal anesthesia can join, provided they agree to take part. However, women who have other serious health issues, who require additional procedures during surgery, or who cannot communicate effectively will not be included. If you decide to participate, you can expect to be monitored during and after the surgery to help researchers understand the impact of blood pressure on your recovery. Your involvement could help improve care for future patients undergoing cesarean sections.
