ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring two different approaches to help manage obesity in children who have a specific condition known as gastric heat and dampness obstruction. The study will compare the effects of auricular acupressure, a technique that involves applying pressure to certain points on the ear, with a diet plan that limits carbohydrates at certain times. The goal is to see which method better improves health and reduces risks associated with being overweight, such as high blood pressure and prediabetes.
To participate in this trial, children aged 2 to 17 must have at least one health issue related to being overweight, like high blood pressure or prediabetes, and be diagnosed with the gastric heat and dampness obstruction syndrome. However, those with certain medical conditions, such as genetic disorders or those taking part in other clinical studies recently, won't be eligible. Participants will engage in either the acupressure treatment or the dietary plan over three months, and this may help improve their overall health. The study is currently looking for volunteers, so it’s a good opportunity for families seeking new ways to address childhood obesity.
