ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how to best connect people who need help with substance use disorders to support resources. The trial has three groups: one group receives in-person help from a peer recovery coach who meets them in the emergency department, another group gets support through video calls with a peer recovery coach, and the last group receives standard care, which includes a list of resources but no direct coaching. The peer recovery coaches will talk with participants to understand their needs and help them find community resources for recovery. They will also follow up with participants to provide ongoing support after they leave the hospital.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be at least 18 years old, have recently received care in the emergency department, be able to speak and understand English, and meet certain criteria related to substance use issues. Participants can expect to take part in follow-up calls or visits at 7, 30, and 90 days after joining the study to see how they are doing and to provide additional support if needed. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to improve access to care and support for individuals dealing with substance use disorders.
