ClinConnect Summary
The Senile Osteoporotic Fractures Cohort Study (SOFCS) is a clinical trial aimed at understanding osteoporotic fractures, which are breaks in bones that can happen easily in older adults due to weakened bones. This study will involve over 2,000 elderly patients who have had surgery for these fractures, helping researchers gather important information to improve prevention and treatment. The trial will follow participants for two years, tracking their recovery and health outcomes.
To be eligible for this study, participants need to be at least 65 years old and diagnosed with osteoporosis, a condition that makes bones more fragile. There are no restrictions based on gender. However, people younger than 65, those without osteoporosis, or those with certain conditions like Alzheimer's disease or bone tumors cannot join. Participants can expect regular check-ins and support as researchers work to better understand how to care for older adults with osteoporotic fractures. This study is currently recruiting, and it hopes to make a significant impact on the health and quality of life for the elderly community.
