ClinConnect Summary
The mSaada trial is studying a mobile health tool designed to help improve cervical cancer screening and treatment, particularly for women in Kenya. The researchers are testing how well this tool can assist community health volunteers in conducting home-based HPV screenings, which are important for preventing cervical cancer. In the first phase, they will gather feedback from healthcare workers and test the tool in a small group to understand what works best. In the second phase, they will conduct a larger study over 18 months across multiple health facilities to see how effective mSaada is in increasing cervical cancer screening rates and improving knowledge about the disease among women.
To participate in this trial, women must be between 30 and 65 years old, live in Kisumu County, and have an intact uterus and cervix. They also need to be willing to understand the study and provide consent. Community health volunteers and health facility staff involved in cervical cancer screening can also join if they meet similar criteria. Participants can expect to use the mSaada tool during the screening process and to help researchers learn how to make cervical cancer screening more accessible and effective for women in their communities. This trial aims to make a positive impact on women's health in areas with limited healthcare resources.
