ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how people make decisions based on different timeframes. Participants will take part in a task called the Jar Switching Task, where they will guess which of two jars is being used based on drawing balls from them. The trial will test short-term and long-term decision-making by asking participants to identify the current jar, predict the next one, or do both at the same time. The researchers hope to gather data from 1,000 participants to better understand how people think and make choices over various time spans.

To be eligible, participants need to be adults in the U.S. who speak fluent English and have a good track record on the crowdsourcing platform Prolific, with a 95% approval rating and at least 80% on a pre-test. There are no specific exclusions, so most people who meet these criteria can join. Participants will be paid around $10 for each hour they spend on the task, and they can expect to take part in several rounds of the Jar Switching Task to help researchers gather important insights about decision-making behavior.
