ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the use of a mobile app called BumptUp to help pregnant and postpartum women become more active. The goal is to see if this app can improve physical activity levels and other important health factors, such as weight, diet, blood pressure, and mental well-being, among women living in rural areas. The study will involve 176 women who will either use the app or receive an educational brochure about exercise.
To be eligible for the trial, participants should be between 18 and 44 years old, have a single healthy pregnancy, speak English, own a smartphone, and have a doctor’s approval to exercise. Women who have multiple pregnancies or certain medical conditions that prevent them from exercising cannot participate. Those who join the study will have their activity levels tracked and will complete surveys about their health and lifestyle. By participating, they can contribute to research that may help improve health and fitness resources for future mothers.
