ClinConnect Summary
The STEP-UP trial is a study designed to help new mothers who have experienced gestational diabetes (a type of diabetes that can develop during pregnancy) or high blood pressure during pregnancy. The goal of this trial is to connect these women with primary care services to ensure they receive ongoing medical support after giving birth. This is important because managing these conditions can help prevent serious health issues in the future.
To participate in the trial, women must be 18 or older, have given birth recently, and have been diagnosed with gestational diabetes or high blood pressure during their pregnancy. They should also have attended at least one prenatal care visit in the six months before delivery and be able to speak English or Spanish. If eligible, participants can expect to receive support in linking to healthcare providers who will continue to monitor their health after pregnancy. This trial is currently looking for participants, and it’s a great opportunity for mothers to take charge of their health during this important transition.
