ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial, called "Parent-focused Redesign for Encounters, Newborns to Toddlers" (PARENT), is investigating a new way to provide well-child care for Black families living in low-income communities. The trial aims to see how effective this new approach is compared to traditional care methods. The PARENT model uses community health workers, known as "Parent's Coaches," who help families access necessary health services and support instead of relying solely on doctors. By adapting this model to better fit the needs of Black families, the study will look at how well children receive recommended preventive care, how often families go to the emergency room, and how parents feel about their care experiences.

To participate in this study, children must be between 9 to 15 months old, have had at least one visit to a participating practice in the last nine months, and be insured by a specific program. While families do not need to sign up individually, researchers will collect health data from children's records in the participating clinics. Throughout the study, families can expect to receive support from the Parent's Coach, who will help them navigate healthcare services. This trial not only focuses on health outcomes but also explores the financial impact on families and clinics, aiming to improve the overall experience of well-child care for underserved communities.
