ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of using special rubber bands, called class II elastics, while wearing either clear aligners or traditional braces (multi-brackets) to treat a common dental issue known as malocclusion, specifically Angle Class II. The main goal is to see if there is any significant difference in how well these two methods work together to improve dental alignment in adults. The researchers believe that both methods will be equally effective in helping patients achieve a more correct bite by the end of their treatment.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be adults who have completed their growth and have Angle Class II malocclusion. They should be at the stage where their teeth can be treated with rubber bands to connect the upper and lower teeth, aiming for a final result of a class I bite, where the teeth align properly. Unfortunately, people who have had certain dental surgeries, missing teeth (other than wisdom teeth), or specific facial syndromes won’t be eligible. If you join, you can expect to wear either aligners or braces with the added rubber bands, and your progress will be monitored throughout the study. The trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into effective orthodontic treatments.
