ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is investigating how our brains process emotions, particularly in people with epilepsy and mental disorders. Researchers will use a special technique called stereoelectroencephalography (sEEG), which involves placing electrodes in the brain to measure activity while also providing brain stimulation. Participants will complete simple tasks related to emotions while the researchers monitor their brain activity. By comparing brain activity before and after stimulation, the study aims to deepen our understanding of how emotions are processed in the brain and to develop new treatment methods in the future.
To be eligible for this trial, participants need to be between 65 and 74 years old, have had sEEG electrodes implanted for epilepsy evaluation, and be capable of understanding and completing simple tasks. They must also have electrodes implanted in specific brain areas related to emotion processing. Participants can expect to engage in straightforward emotion-related tasks while their brain activity is recorded. Importantly, this study is currently recruiting participants, so there is an opportunity for eligible individuals to contribute to this important research.
