**Trial Summary: Robot-Aided Assessment and Rehabilitation of Upper Extremity Function After Stroke**
This clinical trial is exploring a new way to help people recover movement in their arms after having a stroke. The study is testing a special program that combines two types of rehabilitation: Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), which uses gentle electrical impulses to help muscles move, and robotic training, which uses machines to assist with exercises. The goal is to find out if this combined approach is better at improving arm function than using robotic training alone.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to have had a stroke at least six months ago and be between the ages of 22 and 85. They should be able to reach forward with their arm about three inches. However, certain conditions, like severe pain, some other health issues, or having specific medical devices implanted, would exclude them from joining. Participants can expect to engage in rehabilitation sessions that will help improve their arm movement and strength, with the support of advanced technology. This study is currently looking for volunteers, and it aims to contribute valuable information on effective rehabilitation methods for stroke survivors.
