ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how mindfulness meditation affects people with different backgrounds and mental health issues, including healthy individuals and those dealing with depression. The goal is to find out who benefits the most from mindfulness practices and if there are any negative effects for some individuals. Researchers will look at factors like trauma symptoms, a tendency to disconnect from reality, and repetitive negative thinking to understand how these influence the effectiveness of mindfulness meditation on mental health.
To participate in the study, you need to be enrolled in a mindfulness-based intervention program at one of the participating sites. The study is open to all adults aged 65 and older. If you join, you will fill out questionnaires at different points during the program and a few months afterward to share your experiences regarding anxiety, depression, and overall well-being. Some participants will also have the chance to take part in interviews to discuss their thoughts in more detail. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so it’s an excellent opportunity to contribute to understanding how mindfulness can impact mental health.
