ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how adding more greenery, like trees and plants, to schoolyards can help children be more physically active and improve their overall health. The goal is to encourage kids to play outside more, which can help them stay fit and reduce some health and environmental issues caused by climate change, especially in cities. The study will also see if these changes are worth the cost in terms of health benefits and positive effects on the environment.
To be part of this trial, children need to be between 8 and 13 years old, enrolled in a school selected for the yard makeover by the City of Stockholm, and in either 2nd or 5th grade. Parents must also agree to let their child participate. If a school isn't chosen for the project, or if the child doesn't meet the age or grade requirements, they won’t be eligible. Participants can expect to be part of a study that not only aims to improve their school environment but also to promote healthier habits among their classmates.
