ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying how effective immersive virtual reality (iVR) can be in managing pain after hip arthroscopy, a surgery to repair hip issues. The researchers want to see if using iVR can help reduce pain compared to the usual way of treating pain, which includes medications like opioids and local anesthesia. They will look at patient records and ask participants to complete surveys before and after their surgery, while also providing an immersive virtual reality experience in the recovery room.

To join this study, participants should be at least 18 years old, have tried other treatments for their hip pain without success, and be scheduled for a specific type of hip surgery. Unfortunately, those with certain conditions, like severe visual or hearing impairments, or who are pregnant, cannot participate. If you take part in the trial, you can expect to use a virtual reality headset during your recovery, and your experiences and pain levels will be tracked through questionnaires. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it aims to find new ways to make the recovery process more comfortable for patients after hip surgery.
