ClinConnect Summary
The PIV5Rights Safety and Quality Bundle study is looking to find out if a special type of IV (intravenous) line called a Peripheral Intravenous Catheter (PIVC) can last longer and work better when inserted by a trained nurse using ultrasound technology. The main goal is to see if this approach can help nurses successfully place the catheter on the first try and keep it in place without causing problems for a longer time.
To participate in this study, you need to be at least 18 years old and require an IV for receiving fluids or medications. You should also be able to read and write in English and be willing to provide written consent to join the study. If you qualify, you can expect to receive care from specialized nurses who will use advanced techniques to insert your IV. It’s important to note that this study is not yet recruiting participants, so there will be no immediate opportunities to join.
