**Clinical Trial Summary: Meatal Swab Yourself With Testing for Infections Collectively**
This clinical trial is looking into better ways to test for chlamydia and gonorrhea in men who have sex with men (MSM) and trans women. Normally, testing involves three separate samples taken from the throat, anus, and urine, which can be costly and sometimes less accurate when combined into one sample. The researchers want to see if they can improve the accuracy of these pooled samples by using different methods, like taking a meatal swab (a sample from the opening of the penis) or using a smaller amount of urine. They will compare these pooled samples to the usual separate samples to see how well they can detect infections.
To join this study, participants need to be 18 years or older and willing to take their own throat and anal swabs, along with any samples needed by a healthcare provider. It's important that participants have not taken antibiotics in the last two weeks and haven't participated in this trial before. Those who enroll will complete two sets of their own samples, which will help researchers understand if these new methods can provide accurate testing while saving costs. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the improvement of sexual health testing!
