ClinConnect Summary
The FAB Programme is a study designed to help parents of young children with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD), such as Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. This program uses a special therapy approach called Facilitator-guided Acceptance and Commitment Bibliotherapy (FAB) to support parents' mental health and improve the emotional and behavioral well-being of their children. The study will include 154 parents who speak Cantonese and have children aged 2 to 6 years old with these diagnoses. Researchers hope to find that this program can help parents develop better coping skills and improve their relationship with their children.
To participate, parents must be at least 21 years old, live in Hong Kong, and care for a child who meets specific diagnosis criteria. They should also have access to the internet. However, parents who have severe mental health issues or difficulties understanding the program due to other disabilities will not be eligible. Participants can expect to engage in guided sessions that focus on enhancing their parenting skills and emotional resilience, which may lead to improved outcomes for both them and their children. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it's a great opportunity for parents looking for support.
