ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new and faster way to diagnose fungal infections in patients who are critically ill in the intensive care unit at Assiut University Hospital. Researchers want to see if a special technology called MALDI-TOF MS can help identify certain types of fungi more quickly and accurately. This technology may also help test how resistant these fungi are to antifungal medications, which is important for choosing the right treatment.
If you or a family member are in the intensive care unit and have symptoms that suggest a fungal infection, you might be eligible to participate in this study. To join, you should be of any age and gender, but you cannot be currently receiving antifungal treatment or refuse to take part. Participants can expect to undergo new testing methods that may improve how fungal infections are diagnosed and treated in the future. This study is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to address a significant challenge in treating serious infections.
