ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new approach to help young adults with HIV manage their health better. Specifically, it aims to see if a technology-based program—combining weekly video counseling sessions with a counselor and a mobile app—can improve their ability to control the virus compared to standard care. The trial is focused on young people aged 18 to 29 who live in California, are HIV positive, and have had a recent viral load test showing the virus is still active.
If you or someone you know might be eligible, they need to be comfortable using a smartphone and able to speak English. Participants will receive either the new program with video counseling and the app or the usual care for 16 weeks. The study will also look at how this program affects mental health and substance use. Importantly, if someone struggles with the initial approach, the trial has a plan to adjust their treatment to better fit their needs. This trial is currently recruiting participants, and it could be a great opportunity for young adults living with HIV to get support while managing their health.
