ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding out the best way to manage a specific type of bone injury in patients with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI), a condition that makes bones fragile and prone to fractures. The study is looking at how well a surgical technique called the Wagner technique and a special type of nail, known as a telescoping nail, can help fix a combined fracture in the neck of the femur (the thigh bone) and any deformities that may be present in the femur itself. This research aims to improve treatment options for individuals with OI, ensuring they can lead safer, healthier lives.
If you or a family member has OI and is between the ages of 2 and 14 years, you may be eligible to participate in this trial. It's important to note that participants should not be currently receiving a medication called Bisphosphonate, which is often used to strengthen bones. Those who join the trial can expect to undergo surgery using the Wagner technique and will be monitored closely by medical professionals throughout the process. This trial is currently recruiting participants, so if you have questions or are interested in learning more, please reach out to the research team for further details.
