ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is exploring how cravings for food affect women with Bulimia Nervosa and Binge Eating Disorder. Researchers are particularly interested in understanding how different mental systems—like automatic reactions and awareness of feelings—play a role in these cravings. They believe that how well someone understands their own thinking (called metacognition) might influence how strongly they feel these cravings. By looking at how women respond to images of food, the study aims to connect cravings with the challenges faced by those with these eating disorders.

To participate in this study, women aged 18 to 45 who have been diagnosed with either Bulimia Nervosa or Binge Eating Disorder are welcome to join, as long as they speak French and can give their consent. However, those with substance use disorders, or who are pregnant or breastfeeding, cannot take part. Participants will be asked to view food pictures and share their experiences, helping researchers better understand the link between cravings and eating disorders. This study could be an important step in developing better treatments for these conditions.
