ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how toddlers with autism respond to different types of training that help them learn social skills through imitation. The main goal is to understand whether a child's ability to respond to rhythm can help predict how well they will do in a program called Reciprocal Imitation Training (RIT). In this program, toddlers will either receive standard RIT, which focuses on encouraging imitation and social communication, or a music-enhanced version of RIT that incorporates musical elements. During the study, toddlers will watch videos that include singing and other social interactions, while researchers collect information on where they are looking.
To participate in this study, children need to be between 18 and 36 months old and have a diagnosis of autism or autism spectrum disorder. Unfortunately, children with certain conditions, like severe hearing or vision problems, seizures, or specific genetic syndromes, cannot take part. This study is currently recruiting, and it offers a unique opportunity for toddlers to engage in fun activities while helping researchers learn more about effective ways to support children with autism.
