ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at a new way to treat a common foot condition called hallux valgus, often known as a bunion. Hallux valgus causes the big toe to lean towards the other toes, which can be painful and make it hard to walk. The study is designed to see if a specific surgical technique, called percutaneous correction, can effectively fix this problem. It is currently recruiting participants, and people aged between 65 and 74 who have certain measurements of toe angles may be eligible to join.
To qualify for the study, participants must have hallux valgus that requires surgery, but they should not have other serious foot issues or health conditions that could complicate the procedure. Those who join the trial can expect to undergo the new surgery and be monitored for their recovery and outcomes. This study is important because it will help researchers understand if this technique can improve treatment for people suffering from hallux valgus.
