ClinConnect Summary
**Clinical Trial Summary: NAC- NAFLD and Cushing**
This clinical trial is looking into the effects of Cushing's Syndrome on liver health, specifically focusing on a condition called Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). Cushing's Syndrome happens when the body has too much cortisol, a hormone that can lead to various health issues, including weight gain and problems with insulin and cholesterol. Researchers want to understand how high cortisol levels may contribute to fatty liver disease in people with this condition. So far, studies have shown that about 20% of people with Cushing's Syndrome may have fatty liver, but more research is needed to see how this affects their overall health.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be over 18 years old and currently have active Cushing's Syndrome. Unfortunately, those with other liver diseases or certain health conditions that would prevent them from undergoing an MRI scan cannot join. Participants will have the chance to contribute to important research that could help improve understanding and treatments for both Cushing's Syndrome and NAFLD. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about this trial, please reach out for additional information.
