ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying whether changing a person's position during labor can help them deliver their baby vaginally instead of through a cesarean section. Specifically, it focuses on women whose babies are positioned either facing upward or sideways during labor. By encouraging these women to lie on their side with a special peanut-shaped ball, the researchers want to see if this can improve the baby's position and increase the chances of a successful vaginal delivery. Additionally, the study will explore how these position changes might affect how women feel about their labor experience.
To participate in this trial, women must be over 18 years old, at least 37 weeks pregnant, and in active labor with a single baby positioned head down but facing the wrong way. Participants will receive ultrasounds to check their baby's position and will be asked to try the side-lying position if they are selected for the study group. After giving birth, they will complete a questionnaire about their labor experience. This trial is not yet recruiting participants, but it aims to provide valuable insights into labor management and improve the delivery experience for mothers and their babies.
