ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how effective two medications, Clonidine and Buprenorphine, are in helping adults who are experiencing withdrawal symptoms from Kratom, a substance some people use for its stimulating and calming effects. The study aims to better understand how to manage Kratom addiction, as there is still limited information on this topic. Participants in the trial will alternate between receiving either Clonidine, Buprenorphine, or a combination of both over a 12-week period. Throughout the study, participants will keep track of their withdrawal symptoms using simple questionnaires, which will help researchers see how well the treatments are working.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults experiencing dependence on Kratom and have withdrawal symptoms. They should be able to stick to the treatment plan and reliably fill out daily diaries about their symptoms. However, those with certain conditions, such as serious mental health issues or who have trouble following the treatment, will not be included. Overall, this study is important as it seeks to find effective ways to help people recover from Kratom withdrawal, providing hope for individuals and families affected by this issue.
