ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a condition called adherent perinephric fat (APF) in patients who are undergoing a type of kidney surgery known as partial nephrectomy. APF is a type of fat that sticks to the kidney, and while it's a common issue that doctors see, we still don’t fully understand how it affects surgery outcomes. The researchers want to find out more about what causes this fat to adhere and how it impacts the success of surgery and the patient's recovery. They will collect blood samples and medical information from participants, including details about their overall health and the characteristics of the kidney tumors. Participants will be followed for up to five years after their surgery to see how they do.
To be eligible for this study, participants must be at least 18 years old and scheduled for partial nephrectomy due to a specific type of kidney tumor. They should not have had prior kidney cancer or surgeries that could interfere with the study. Participants will need to give their consent to join the study and will have their health monitored before and after the surgery. This trial could help doctors better understand how APF affects kidney surgery, leading to improved treatment and better outcomes for patients with kidney tumors.
