ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring a new program aimed at preventing teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) among high school students in the greater Miami area. The study will compare two different education programs: one that teaches relationship skills and another that adds lessons on coping with trauma to the relationship skills program. Researchers want to see if adding these trauma-coping lessons helps reduce the number of teens engaging in unprotected sex. They will gather information from students at different points in time to understand the program's effectiveness.
To participate in this trial, students must be in 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade and attend a school in the Miami area. They should not have significant cognitive or mental health issues and must be part of mainstream classrooms. Participants will complete the program lessons and answer surveys about their experiences. This study is an important step in helping young people make informed choices about their sexual health and well-being.
