ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is studying the effects of a local anesthetic called lignocaine when it is placed directly inside the abdominal cavity of women undergoing gynecological open surgery, such as cystectomy or hysterectomy. The goal is to see if this method can reduce postoperative pain more effectively than traditional pain relief methods, which often involve medications like morphine that can cause side effects such as nausea and dizziness. By using lignocaine directly in the area where surgery takes place, researchers hope to minimize pain and improve recovery times.

To participate in this study, women aged 18 to 60 who are scheduled for gynecological open surgery may be eligible, as long as they do not have certain health issues like allergies to lignocaine or severe heart and liver conditions. Participants will receive the study treatment and will be monitored for pain relief and any side effects. This research is important because it aims to improve pain management after surgery, helping patients recover more quickly and comfortably.
