ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the effects of two different surgical techniques used during endodontic microsurgery, which is a procedure to treat teeth with serious issues. The researchers want to find out if using a special tool called a piezoelectric osteotome causes less pain and swelling after surgery compared to the traditional method using a hand-held drill. They will track 44 patients who need this type of surgery, dividing them into two groups to compare their experiences after the procedure.
To be eligible for this study, participants should be non-smokers aged 18 to 65 with healthy teeth. Those with certain health issues or who are taking long-term medications may not qualify. After the surgery, patients will fill out a pain questionnaire at various intervals over five days, and they will return for follow-up visits to check for swelling. This trial aims to improve our understanding of which surgical technique might offer a better recovery experience for patients. If you're considering joining this study, it could be a great opportunity to contribute to dental research while also receiving care for your dental needs.
