ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying a new way to assess the risk of suicide using a computer test called the Implicit Association Test (IAT). This tool helps measure thoughts and feelings about suicide that people might not be fully aware of. The goal of the study is to see how these implicit thoughts change over time in different groups of patients, including those who have expressed suicidal thoughts and those who have attempted suicide. Researchers will follow participants for up to a year, checking their IAT scores and gathering information through questionnaires.
To participate in the trial, you need to be an adult who has come to the emergency room for psychiatric reasons and can speak and write in French. You must also be able to give your consent to be in the study. However, people with severe cognitive issues, certain psychiatric conditions, or those under the influence of drugs at the time of assessment cannot take part. If you join the study, you will complete the IAT and answer a series of questions at three different times: when you start the study, after six months, and again after twelve months. This research aims to improve our understanding of suicide risk and help develop better prevention strategies.
