ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at the effectiveness of a procedure called Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy (POEM) for treating certain gastrointestinal disorders, which are conditions that affect how food moves through the digestive system. These conditions include achalasia, esophageal spasm, gastroparesis, swallowing disorders, and Zenker diverticulum. The study aims to gather information about how well this procedure works in real-life settings. It is important to note that all participants will continue to receive standard medical care and will not be given any experimental treatments during the trial.
To be eligible for this study, patients must be at least 18 years old and scheduled to have the POEM procedure. However, those who cannot safely undergo an endoscopy or are involved in another research study that could affect the results will not be able to participate. If you decide to join, you can expect to receive standard care while contributing to important research that may help improve treatment for these gastrointestinal conditions in the future. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders and is open to individuals aged 18 and older.
