ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at ways to help people with obesity feel better about themselves and manage their weight more effectively. The study will include patients from a specialized obesity center who have a body mass index (BMI) over 30. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups: one group will take part in a special educational program that includes physical activity workshops and sessions focused on improving social well-being, while the other group will continue with their usual care without these additional activities.
Eligible participants are adults aged 65 to 74 who are part of a social security program. Those with ongoing, uncontrolled psychiatric conditions will not be included in the study to ensure everyone can fully participate. Throughout the 12-month program, participants will be assessed at different intervals to see how these activities may impact their well-being and weight. This trial aims to provide valuable insights into how addressing the social aspects of obesity can help improve overall health and quality of life.
