ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying how non-surgical treatments for gum disease, specifically for conditions called peri-implantitis and peri-implant mucositis, might improve a problem known as endothelial dysfunction. Endothelial dysfunction is when the inner lining of blood vessels doesn't work properly, which can be a risk for heart disease. The trial is looking for participants who have these gum issues but do not have any heart-related problems.
To be eligible, participants need to be diagnosed with either peri-implantitis or peri-implant mucositis, based on specific dental guidelines. They should not have received any dental treatments, antibiotics, or certain medications in the past six months, and they must not be pregnant or have cardiovascular diseases. This study is currently recruiting participants, and it will take place in a double-blind manner, meaning neither the participants nor the researchers will know who is receiving the treatment or a placebo (a treatment that looks the same but has no active ingredients). This helps ensure the results are reliable. If you or someone you know is interested in participating, it could be a valuable opportunity to help improve understanding of how treating gum disease might benefit overall health.
