ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking at how certain heart diseases in children, specifically Kawasaki disease, myocarditis, and a condition related to COVID-19 called Pediatric Inflammatory Multisystem Syndrome (PIMS), affect heart function. The goal of the study is to analyze past data from patients treated at Nancy Children Hospital between January 2017 and June 2023. Researchers want to find out what factors might indicate the need for extra heart support (called inotropic support) and what factors could lead to worsening heart function in these patients.
To be eligible for this study, children must be under 18 years old and have a confirmed diagnosis of one of the three heart conditions mentioned. Unfortunately, children with uncertain diagnoses or other complex heart issues will not be included. Since the trial is not yet recruiting, families will not need to take any steps to participate at this time, but it’s important to note the focus is on understanding and improving care for these specific heart diseases in young patients.
