ClinConnect Summary
The Lower Silesia Shockwave Registry (LSSR) is a study that aims to gather information about the safety and effectiveness of a special treatment called shockwave intravascular lithotripsy, which is used during a procedure known as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). This treatment helps doctors open up narrowed or blocked arteries in the heart, particularly when the arteries have hard calcium build-up. The study is taking place at two hospitals in Poland and is currently looking for participants.
To be eligible for this trial, participants should have moderately to severely calcified arteries or have previously received a stent (a small tube to keep arteries open) that isn’t working properly. They should also have experienced difficulties with initial treatments to prepare the arteries. Importantly, participants must agree to join the study and cannot be pregnant or have certain severe complications from previous procedures. Those who take part can expect to contribute to valuable research that may help improve heart treatments for others in the future.
