ClinConnect Summary
The Cardiac Arrest Bundle of CARE Trial is studying new ways to improve survival rates for people who experience a sudden cardiac arrest outside of a hospital, which is a serious event where the heart stops beating and the person becomes unresponsive. The trial will test a combination of three devices that can help increase blood flow during resuscitation, which may lead to better chances of survival and recovery with normal brain function. This is particularly important as many people who suffer cardiac arrests at home often do not survive, despite quick help from emergency services.
To participate in this trial, individuals must be adults over 18 who have had a witnessed cardiac arrest, with the event happening within about 20 minutes before help arrived. Certain groups, such as visibly pregnant women and those with specific types of cardiac arrest, are not eligible to join. Participants can expect to have their resuscitation managed using these innovative devices, and the findings from this trial will help shape future research to see if this technology can truly make a difference in saving lives.
