ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is focused on finding patients with Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC) who may have been overlooked or lost to follow-up in the healthcare system. PBC is a chronic liver disease that can cause serious complications if not diagnosed and treated early. The goal of the study is to use computerized health records to identify these patients, understand their health status, and ensure they get the necessary medical attention and follow-up care.
To participate in this trial, individuals need to be 18 years or older and have specific blood test results indicating the presence of certain antibodies associated with PBC. Unfortunately, patients with a condition called Overlap Syndrome, where PBC occurs alongside another liver disease called Autoimmune Hepatitis, are not eligible. Participants in the study can expect to have their health information reviewed and, if eligible, be referred for ongoing specialized care to help manage their condition effectively. This study aims to improve outcomes for patients by ensuring they receive the treatment they need.
