ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying the outcomes of different surgical methods used to repair various types of hernias, including inguinal (groin), femoral, umbilical (belly button), and ventral (abdominal wall) hernias. The researchers want to understand how different techniques, types of surgical mesh, and the materials used to secure them affect patients' experiences after surgery. Specifically, they will look at things like pain right after the operation, any complications, long-term pain, and the chances of the hernia coming back.
To be eligible for this study, participants must have undergone a hernia repair using mesh or non-mesh methods that are recorded in the Kalinigrad Hernia Registry between January 9, 2020, and December 31, 2023. Anyone without a state-assigned personal insurance number or those who have certain types of hernias, like infected ones, won't be able to participate. If you join the trial, your experiences and recovery will be analyzed to help improve treatments for future patients. The trial is currently recruiting participants of all genders, aged between 65 and 74.
