ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is looking into how well a medication called morphine can help relieve pain after surgery for a specific type of broken hip, known as a proximal femur fracture. The researchers want to see if giving morphine directly into the spinal area (a method called intrathecal administration) can provide better pain relief compared to other methods. The study is currently recruiting participants who are between 60 and 90 years old, have signed consent to join, and are undergoing surgery with spinal anesthesia.
To be eligible for this trial, patients must have certain health conditions and cannot have any allergies to opioids or be at high risk for breathing problems. Participants can expect to be closely monitored during their recovery process to assess how well the pain relief works. This trial aims to improve comfort and recovery for older adults after hip surgery, making it an important opportunity for those who qualify.
