ClinConnect Summary
The clinical trial titled "Understanding CARdiac Events in Breast Cancer" is focused on studying how cancer treatments can affect heart health in women diagnosed with breast cancer. Researchers have found that women who survive breast cancer may be at a higher risk of developing heart problems compared to other women their age. This study aims to create a better care plan to help identify and manage the heart-related side effects of cancer treatments, ensuring that women can maintain their quality of life both during and after their treatment.
To be eligible for this trial, women must be at least 18 years old, able to read and understand English, and diagnosed with stage I to III breast cancer, as they will be receiving chemotherapy as part of their treatment. Participants can expect to work closely with a team of specialists who will monitor their heart health throughout the study. This is an important opportunity for patients to contribute to research that could improve care for future breast cancer survivors, especially regarding their heart health.
