ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is studying two different methods of placing dental implants for patients who have lost all their teeth in their lower jaw (also known as an edentulous mandible). The trial compares a traditional method using multiunit abutments with a newer method that uses OT bridge attachments. Both methods involve placing four implants in specific positions to support a fixed set of teeth. Researchers will track changes in the bone around the implants and any issues that might arise with the dental prostheses over the course of a year.
To participate, patients need to be at least 40 years old, have good oral hygiene, and possess enough bone structure to support the implants. They should not have any serious health issues, such as uncontrolled diabetes or recent head or neck radiation. Participants can expect to have the implants placed and then wait about 8 to 12 weeks for healing before receiving their new teeth. Throughout the study, participants will have follow-up appointments to check on bone health and any complications with the prostheses. This trial is currently looking for volunteers who fit the criteria.
