ClinConnect Summary

This clinical trial is focused on understanding how the brain works during tasks that require thinking, remembering, and reasoning, especially in people with cognitive impairments like dementia, attention deficit disorder (ADD), and depression. By studying brain activity, the researchers hope to learn more about these conditions and find better treatments. Participants will have their brain activity recorded while they perform specific tasks, which will help scientists see how different parts of the brain interact. It’s important to know that these recordings are in addition to standard procedures done to monitor for seizures and won’t change the usual care participants receive.

To be eligible for the trial, participants must be at least 18 years old and diagnosed with epilepsy that has not responded to other treatments. They should also be eligible for surgery based on a team of specialists' review. Those who cannot provide informed consent or have major health issues may not qualify. If you join the study, you can expect to play a role in advancing our understanding of brain functions and possibly helping others with similar conditions in the future. Your participation could contribute to important discoveries in treating cognitive impairments.
