ClinConnect Summary
This clinical trial is exploring how dual-task exercises can help individuals with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Dual-task exercises are activities that involve doing two tasks at once, such as walking while solving simple puzzles. The researchers want to see if these exercises can improve both physical and mental functions in people with COPD, compared to a regular pulmonary rehabilitation program. Participants will be divided into two groups: one will focus on standard rehabilitation exercises, while the other will combine these exercises with cognitive tasks for eight weeks. The study will also compare the performance of COPD patients with healthy individuals to understand any differences in how they handle dual-tasking.
To be eligible for this trial, participants must be adults aged 40 to 75 who have been diagnosed with stable COPD and do not have any serious mental or physical health conditions that could interfere with their participation. This means they should not be experiencing a worsening of their COPD and should not have any other major health issues like heart disease or cognitive impairments. Those who join this study can expect to engage in a structured exercise program and contribute to important research that may help improve rehabilitation strategies for COPD patients in the future.
