ClinConnect Summary
The SECODIS trial is studying how different ways of working can affect the health of emergency medical dispatchers and CODIS operators, who often spend long hours sitting at their desks. The main goal is to see if using special equipment like sit-and-stand desks and exercise bikes (called cycloergometers) can help reduce the negative effects of sitting for too long at work.
To participate, you need to be an emergency medical dispatcher or a firefighter from the operational center and be able to give your consent to join the study. You also need to be able to use the sit-and-stand desk and the exercise bike. Unfortunately, if you are not part of a health insurance plan, or are a minor, pregnant, breastfeeding, or under legal protection, you won’t be able to participate. If you join, you can expect to take part in activities that encourage more movement during your workday, which could lead to better health outcomes. This study is currently looking for participants, and your involvement could help improve workplace health for people in emergency services.
